MPOS, The Modern Solutions for Payment – 07 June 2016

Encouraging the creation of cashless society, any purchase or payment of any kind will use the card whose financial data is stored in it, not only in modern shopping malls, the traditional market is also expected to receive non-cash payments.

Slowly and certainly, the concept of cashless society began to form, one of them characterized by the rapid development of technology was applied in the finance and banking. Buying train tickets, car parking and Transjakarta buses already require the use of non-cash through card payment instruments, many drinks vending machine currently use of Near Field Communications technology, just tap the card to choose the beverages. Fast, efficient and safe are the expected outcomes of the non-cash society.

One familiar device in the merchant that supports cashless society is EDC, EDC can perform the function of credit card payments and debit accounts, but can’t purchase voucher credits, electricity tokens, tickets, etc. EDC does not keep records digitally, only paper transactions such as hitting and no historical reports to record transactions. EDC for some type of Mobile hard to use, because they depend on a fixed phone device.

EDC limitation along with the rapid development of mobile technology innovation spawned Mobile Point of Sale (MPOS), the Bank that is using MPOS in Indonesia is Bank Mandiri, while other banks are currently in the development phase of the MPOS application. MPOS is predicted to be a financial transaction device that will replace EDC at the next.

MPOS has many functions that are in operation using the smartphone’s Internet connection via Bluetooth, wireless or NFC connection. MPOS ensures financial transactions occur securely, as it is safer. Then using MPOS in merchant is expected to further increase sales.
